Three-dimensional works are the cornerstone of Wolfe’s artistic exploration. His sculpture is a natural extension of the way in which he views the world. He is able to design and deconstruct in three dimensions without the assistance of technology.
Cantilevered from the wall with no visible means of support, these wooden constructions dominate the space they hold. Most of Wolfe’s wall works are assemblages of numerous elements, each expertly handcrafted with a lacquer finish.
Wolfe works in aluminum and steel to create sculpture suitable for both indoor and outdoor settings. Ranging from small, table-top pieces, to grand, garden-scale sculptures, these constructions are a product of his reverence for geometry.
These steel and aluminum constructions are designed to hang on the wall like paintings. Although the sculptures are only an inch or two deep, there is a great deal of dimension to them.
Often blending found objects with new materials, Wolfe creates one-of-a-kind furniture pieces. Most are functional, however, many are pure sculpture.
